Well I Promised Something Made From A Stamp Set From The Mini So Here It Is

As you know a couple of posts ago I promised to play with some stamps out of the new  mini catalogue.  Well I finally got a change.  I had to make some calander pages for our stamp club that we hold here each month so I decided to make them using the stamp set called SENSE OF TIME (116885) on page 16.  I just love this set, I had to have it as soon as I seen it in the Mini Catalogue.  You can adapt it in so many different ways, I like collage stamping a lot so I can see myself using the stamp set in that way very soon as well.  But with this (as I had to do 12 the same) I decided just to go fairly simple.
So here is the top of the calander page that I made, very plain but elegant (that is just my opinion though).
The Base Card is Very Vanilla
On the right hand side I stamped the cogs in Creamy Caramel Ink & The verse in Chocolate Chip Ink.  I just love these colours together.
The Frame around the clock is Creamy Caramel Cardstock
on this I have stamped the cogs & verse in Chocolate Chip Ink
The clock itself is stamped in Chocolate Chip Ink as well
I used my great stampamajig for placing the wording on the Creamy Caramel Cardstock as not all the verse fitted.  I had to leave the author of the quote off, who by the way is Bonnie Friedman.  The stampamajig makes life so easy.
Well I hope you like what I did with this stamp set so far.  No doubt I will have a little more time to play on the weekend & get to use some other stamps from the mini or maybe even come up with something else with this same stamp set..  So watch this space.

THE 2009 SPRING MINI CATALOGUE

THE SPRING MINI IS HERE
(I am a little late uploading it but better late than never I guess)..
I am pretty sure us demonstrators look forward to the release of all Stampin' Up! s new goodies & specials all the time.  I know as soon as we hear about them we tell all of our customers straight away.  If you would like a mini catalogue sent to you just send us an email & we will post one straight out. Just email us on michelle.martyn@keypoint.com.au
its as easy as that.  Obviously your name and address will help as well.. *GRIN* Look forward to hearing from you.
Even though this blog update is a bit late most of our customers already know about it.  We are going to be having an open day for this soon as well.  When we know the details we will post them straight away.  Been a bit hard as the date we were going to have it on Michelle had the swine flu...  Not much fun at all.  But she is improving every day.
The mini runs until the 30th of November so if there is anything in it you want just send us an email and we will be more than happy to organise getting your goodies to you.  There are so many things in the mini that I have fallen in love with, so I am sure you will find something you like.
Stampin' Up! have actually already had a couple of the sets on backorder as they have just been so popular!!!  (but don't worry more are on the way already)..   Next week we are hoping to post you some pictures of a few cards that have been made from the new mini.  So as they say WATCH THIS SPACE.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Swap Cards I Made For Convention

Well I am going well so far, I havn't missed many days putting up something on the blog.
I also have discovered again how to change the fonts, size & the colours.. YAYY!!
THANKYOU Wendy Todd.
At Convention everyone makes swap cards to swap with other demonstrators. This is to share your ideas with others and recieve ideas from them. Mind you there are some peopele that don't make swaps as it may be the first convention they have been to and didn't really know what to do. Some people are a bit nervous that they might not be good enough which is really sad as everyones ideas are good no matter what.

Before you read on you have to forgive me as I have not actually described the making of cards in a basic way before. I am used to doing step by step instructions. So hopefully as I do more I will get better...

So here are the three swap cards that I made for the Convention this year.

SWAP CARD 1

The materials used for this card were
(the numbers after the item is the order code just in case you were wondering)

Stamp Sets: Upsy Daisy – 115898 and Cute & Curly - 112966
Ink Pads: Tangerine Tango – 111834 and Chocolate Chip - 100908
Cardstock: Whisper White - 106589, Tangerine Tango – 116206 and Chocolate Chip - 108599
Accessories: Punch - Curly Label - 112966, Snail - 104332, Sticky Strip – 104294
and Dimensionals - 104430 Ribbon: ⅝ Striped Grossgrain Kiwi Kiss Ribbon – 111372
Some Simple Instructions on how I made this card
The base card is chocolate chip. I stamped on Tangerine Tango card in Chocolate Chip Ink for both the bottom part of the card (flowers) & for the wording that I punched out with the punch from the Curly Label Set. I then inked part of the stamp (which you can tell from the picture shown) in Tangerine Tango ink & stamped it onto the White card. These two coloured pieces of card were stuck onto the Choc Chip card with the Snail. Then I wanted to cover the join in the White & Tangerine Tango card so I stuck down the Kiwi Kiss ribbon with sticky strip. The piece I stamped & punched from the Curly Label set (Best Wishes) I mounted onto the top right with stamping dimensionals (which I just love to use) to just give that piece a nice raised look. Now hopefully this all makes some sort of sense but like I said you have to forgive me as I am not a pro at this. If you have any questions at all with anything just email me.

SWAP CARD 2

The materials used for this card were
(the numbers after the item is the order code just in case you were wondering)

Stamp Sets: Only Ovals - 115842, Friendly Words Jumbo Wheel - 114696, Dreams Du Jour - 115786
Ink Pads: Ruby Red - 103673, Baja Breeze – 111833 Pacific Point - 111837
Card Stock: Very Vanilla - 106550, Designer Series Paper Good Morning Sunshine - 113966
Accessories: Punch - Wide Oval - 112082, Snail - 104332, Sponges - 101610, Jumbo Handle - 103661

Some Simple Instructions on how I made this card

The base card is very vanilla. Using the Frienly Words Jumbo Wheel & Ruby Red Ink I rolled the image across the bottom half of the very vanilla card stock. I then stamped the butterfly image from the dreams du jour set randomly on the top half using Baja Breeze. I then sponged the edges of the whole card with corresponding ink (one of my fav techniques in sponging, it just seems to lift the whole look of the card). From the Good Morning Sunshine designer series paper I cut a 1cm strip and adhered with the snail (see placement of stip on the sample card above). On very vanilla card I stamped the you are my friend stamp from the only oval set and then punched thie image out with the wide oval punch. This was then adhered with the snail to the card at the top in the middle (also as shown on sample).

SWAP CARD 3

The materials used for this card were
(the numbers after the item is the order code just in case you were wondering)
Stamp Sets: Say it with Scallops - 115862, Fresh Cuts - 115806
Ink Pads: Kiwi Kiss - 111835, Riding Hood Red - 111836
Card Stock: Very Vanilla - 106550, Riding Hood Red - 116205
Accessories: Punch - 1¼ Square - 104400, Snail - 104332, Punch - 1⅜ Square - 103375
Some Simple Instructions on how I made this card

The first step was to stamp the Fresh Cuts Image onto Very Vanilla Card in Kiwi Kiss Ink. Then I trimmed around the image leaving a small border. I then adhered this to the base card (Riding Hood Red) which was cut about 1cm larger than the Very Vanilla using the snail to adhere. Also onto Very Vanilla I stamped a Say it with Scallops Image in Riding Hood Red ink. This was then punched out using the the smaller of the two square punches (look at accessories list) and then adhered with the snail onto a piece of Ridind Hood Red which was punched out with the larger square punch (see accessories list above). The card was then completed by adhering the squares onto the top left area of the card (see sample for placement).

I hope you like the swaps that I made. I know I really enjoyed making them. I recieved some very amazing swaps from the other demonstrators that were at the Convention. I will upload some of these for you to look at but as there were so many the photos may not be very clear. Please forgive me for any mistakes....

More Photos from Convention 2009

Yes well I promised I would put up some more photos from the wonderful convention so here goes...only two though sorry... (click on photos to enlarge them)

Here are a few off the page items that were on display for us all to look at. It is quite amazing what you can come up with when you put your mind to it. Others stampers are just amazing!!

Also there are display boards that you can get great inspiration from. This is one of them. (this photo is not real goos sorry). The great thing about these boards are you get so many ideas. You see something & you immediately think mmmm if I did this with that stamp set & arranged it a little like this, I could come up with a whole heap of new ideas. So it is just FANTASTIC that the people that actually made the original cards - scrap pages etc are will to let them be displayed for everyone to look at & definately admire.

Well I hope you get a few ideas from these two photos. I know I have.
Have a wonderful month in July. The time is just flying by so fast. So make every minute of every day enjoyable & be thankful for what we all have. xo
